Now this base layer is actually made up of stone and sand, and this is mixed together, and this is just the right thing to put underneath the patio. The next step is to spray out the actual circle of the patio now using the transit they set up, they're gonna shoot grades set their rails, and then we'll be able to start screening off of the patio we're using the transit to shoot a level line. So that we can set these screen rails, each one of these rails is going to have different heights on it, but we want the high point to all to be the same we're using a height of four foot eleven and a half to set all these ends.
Then, as you travel down the rails, they're gonna drop, the middle point is going to be 3/4 of an inch lower than the high point. The far end is going to be an inch and a half lower than the top point so that everything drains off the patio now it's time to level off the sand. We're gonna do that using this screed run off a break off way. I like this okay, now, what we're gonna do is we're gonna move, our screed rail now we're just filling in the void left by the screed rail.
Now, bringing the centerpiece of the patio out to Kevin and off of that centerpiece we're gonna build a whole patio. Now, most people won't build a circular patio because it requires cuts and a lot of them. The great thing about this round patio is the manufacturer has given us pavers that'll. Let us build around patio with no cuts, but he's also given us a plan. We have to follow. First thing is the number one stone and that's the one you already put in the center next one: it's gonna be a row and number twos and threes and fours and then a blend of four and five until we build a patio all the way out.
Nice, so what we have to do is just keep supplying, now they're putting in the first row, which is the number twos when they're fully assembled they'll give us a perfect radius around our center point. The guys added a border to the patio and they used a lighter color. I love how it makes the colors pop it looks great and to hold it all into place. We're using these 8 inches galvanized spikes that we put through this plastic edging. Well, the guys have laid out the first course of the fire pit.
This also comes as a kit individual pieces that are gonna make a radius. What they're gonna do is take and remove these bottom pavers they put in and just drop the first course in place. Yeah, what's the basis in, we can just build on top of it. Using these interlocking block memory, I'm gonna just pour out this polymeric sin, and I want you to spread it out into the joints.
