We need these lights in an area that we can't necessarily get power to, or don't already have power run to, whether it be a storage shed. Kids playground, off-grid cabins, something like that and the solution to our problem is a solar powered light. Now, as you can see, we're on the gun range today - and I do teach classes out here so during the winter months - a lot of times - we find ourselves getting close to the end of the day.
I starts to get a little dark out here and we need to be able to light up this area on the range, so we can finish shooting or if you just get off work and you want to come out and do some shooting during those winter months. It's hard to do because it's going to get dark around 5:30 and you just don't have time to do it, so this is going to be our solution today. We're looking at these elated solar powered area lights. As you can see, it has a nice big solar panel on top that's going to capture the power of the Sun. It does have its own internal battery to store that power.
It takes about nine hours of sunlight to get a full charge on this thing, but once it is charged, it's be good for three nights just on one charge, so you should never have a problem running out of power on this thing it does have. Thirty high powered LED on the bottom there, those are going to give out a thousand lumbermen of light, and I have tested this out it lights up. A pretty good area about a 60 foot. Diameter area is what it lights up. Now it's not a super intense bright light.
It is kind of a softer light which isn't bad, but it is a thousand lumbermen. So it puts out more than enough light that we need I'm actually going to put up two we're going to do one on either side of the range here to make sure we have plenty of light to do what we need to do. Also, you can see it has a 360 degree PEER motion sensor, so this light can motion-activated. It has several different settings, different brightness levels as well as coming on as a dusk, to dawn light, so it will come on at nighttime and then go off in the morning when the Sun comes up, that's not necessary. For my purposes.
I really just need the on/off function, which it can do that and it can be operated by this really convenient. Remote control has several different settings: different brightness settings, as well as the on/off and different memory modes that you can set like. I said I'm not only need for this light. Is the on/off and we're a have it at 100 % power. This light is very well constructed.
It's IP65 rated, so on that's not only water-resistant. This is water and storm proof, so it should hold up in pretty much any weather, including hail rain, storms, thunderstorms, wind storms. Anything like that. It also has a very nice mounting solution, as you can see it's adjustable for can't as well as it comes with these. To mount to some type of metal, pole or fence post, you can also take these off and to mount it on a flat surface like the side of a building or a wall, we're going to be using four by four posts, the recommended height to get the Most out of your light is right at 11 and a half 12 feet, so we're going to be mounting these at 12 feet facing in on the range we're a mount it out here at the 10 yard line.
